Cork Rubber

Cork Rubber

Cork rubber is available in dozens of compositions. It is precisely what it sounds like, a composite mix of cork rubber and binders, which typically are SBR, Neoprene, or Nitrile rubber based. Cork rubber is engineered to compete against compressed sheet products in similar applications. The advantages include a lower density level, thus, lower sealing forces.

Cork rubber also reflects one of the only true green products in that cork rubber is harvested from cork trees and is self-sustaining from a renewable resources standpoint. It can be found in products such as pumps, electronic transformers, flange seals in plastic housings, power transformers, gas meters, etc.
