Cork Rubber
Cork Rubber
Cork rubber, available in numerous compositions, is a composite mix of cork rubber and binders. These binders, typically SBR, Neoprene, or Nitrile rubber-based, are added to enhance the properties of the cork rubber. The resulting product is engineered to compete against compressed sheet products in similar applications, offering advantages such as a lower density level and thus lower sealing forces.
Cork rubber stands out as a truly green product sourced from renewable cork trees. Its self-sustaining nature from a renewable resources standpoint is a testament to its eco-friendliness. This versatile material finds applications in a wide range of products, including pumps, electronic transformers, flange seals in plastic housings, power transformers, gas meters, and more.
