Solid Rubber

Solid Rubber

Solid rubber is available in base polymers from Butyl and SBR, as well as Nitriles, Silicones, and Fluoroelastomers like Viton and FKM products. It's available in various Shore A durometers, with Shore 20 being the softest and 90 the hardest. Colors are typically black and white, with other colors available upon request, in multiple thicknesses, and in sheets or rolls. Solid rubber does not compress; instead, it changes shape and conforms to whatever surfaces it's applied to under load.

One of the key applications of this material is in the production of flat gaskets, which are widely used for mechanical and fluid sealing. These gaskets can be found in a variety of settings, from industrial and agricultural equipment to recreational appliances and electronics, and even in the medical field. Additionally, the material is also used in energy-damping applications and sound reduction.

Common Applications
  • Air and Fluid Sealing
  • Sound Abatement
  • Vibration Isolation
  • Vibration Reduction
