Seventy-six (76) organizations in Hennepin County – including PGC will be receiving the 2019 Wellness by Design Award for excellence in worksite wellness on November 7th. The award recognizes organizations that make employee health a priority through creative and effective wellness initiatives. Hennepin County Public Health will be hosting the award ceremony at the Maple Grove Community Center.

Wellness by Design Awards are presented to Hennepin County employers that demonstrate accomplishments in management support, wellness infrastructure, communication, and programming directed at improving employee health. A “+Green” designation is also awarded to companies that minimize their impact on the environment. Twenty-two (22) of the 76 Wellness by Design recipients received the “+Green” designation this year.

Worksite wellness programs are of value to both the employee and employer. They can improve employee performance, increase engagement, lower healthcare costs, and build community. Effective programs create a culture of health that affect all employees
